Backwater Saskatchewan

I spent a day in Backwater Saskatchewan that felt like a week. Why would anyone go to Backwater you might ask - because my Grandma turned 85! Nothing less than that makes the torture worth it.

In an effort to entice First Lobster to go to Backwater, I promised he could drive his 'vette. He struggled to think of a safe place to park his car overnight. He asked if we could stay in a high class hotel with protected parking. Hello! this is Backwater - the Motel 6 is high class!

The hotel did have a pool - FL sat in the hot tub and then moved to a different spot so he could 'enjoy the view' from the window - Hello! this is Backwater - the view is miles and miles of nothing but waving grass.

My Grandma has lived in Backwater for most of her life - so what does a hip grannie chose to do when she turns 85? We went to the casino and gambled for ten minutes or so (I came out $15 ahead) - that's the high life in Backwater!

Happy Birthday Grandma Willa!!
